A
program through which Kentuckians can get a free copy of their credit
reports is available on-line.
Consumers can order the reports online https://www.annualcreditreport.com),
by phone (877-322-8228) or by mail (annual credit report service, P.O. Box
105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281). The reports are provided by the three
nationwide credit bureaus -- Equifax, Experian and Transunion.
A
spokeswoman for the federal trade commission says the program is about
accuracy and awareness. She says it's important to know what's in your
credit report, because a lot of other people are seeing it.
Consumers
can write the credit bureau disputing information if they believe there's a
mistake. But you should make note, that your are only entitled to one free
credit report in a 12 month period.
