The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to continue daytime closures along KY 281 in HOPKINS County through the week of August 13-.17, 2012.
 
KY 281/Island Ford Road will be closed during daylight hours from KY 138 at mile point 16.134 to KY 1033 at mile point 9.057 for slide repair and drainage work. 
 
The daytime closure is to allow ongoing brush clearing and drainage work along the levee in this area.
 
KY 281 will close at approximately 6:00 a.m., CDT, each weekday.  It is expected to reopen to traffic at approximately 3:00 p.m. each day.  Work in this area may extend into the following week.
 
Motorists who regularly travel this section of KY 281 in Hopkins County should make advance alternate travel plans.  No marked detour will be provided.
 
Approximately 100 vehicles travel this section of KY 281 in an average day.
