Madisonville's Final Friday Night Live of the Season this Friday

Madisonville, KY – The final installment of the 2012 Summer Concert Series, Friday Night Live, will feature international blues artist “Larry Grisham and the Beat Daddys.” Awarded the 2008 Kentucky Blues Award “The Beat Daddys” have toured extensively for the last several decades and enjoy a great following both in the states and abroad. In addition to “The Beat Daddys,” Friday Night Live will showcase the musical talents of “Mayor David Jackson and Friends” and the 2012 winner of the local “Let Freedom Sing” competition, Bel Richardson.

Daron Jordan, Community Development Director for the City of Madisonville, stated, “We are blessed to have an abundance of local and regional musical talent and are happy to showcase that talent through the Friday Night Live events. If it weren’t for the financial support provided by the City of Madisonville, Trover Health System, and the Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission, we would be hard pressed to keep this free summer concert series going.” “We hope that everyone brings their lawn chairs and plans to enjoy a great night of free entertainment courtesy of these three entities and our other community supporters.”

The August edition of Friday Night Live will also see the return of the ever popular Classic Car Cruise-in, hosted by the local Show-N-Go Car Club, which usually has over 75 classic cars on display. Continuing a long standing tradition, Friday Night Live will also host the United Way Campaign kick-off that will showcase many of the United Way Agencies and a watermelon eating contest to raise funds for the United Way agencies. Friday Night Live will still have areas of the venue set-up to feature local non-profit vendors selling food, other local vendors providing information and sales, the Madisonville Fire Department kid’s obstacle course, and a “Beer Garden” sponsored by the Madisonville Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce.
