New Traffic Signal to Activate Monday in Greenville
A new traffic signal at the intersection of US 62/Hopkinsville Street and KY 181/South Main Street in Greenville/Muhlenberg County is expected to activate on Monday, May 20, 2013.
KYTC traffic technicians and a contractor have been changing circuit boards required to adjust phasing on the signal to improve traffic flow and safety at the intersection. Over the next few days technicians will be testing the new phasing from time to time to assure the signal is working properly before it is put into full service. Provided everything checks out, they plan to put the new signal into full operation sometime on the morning of Monday, May 20, 2013.
Motorists should be prepared to adjust driving habits to meet changes in traffic flow created when the new signal goes into service.
This intersection is at US 62 mile point 10.398 and KY 181 mile point 11.881. Approximately 15,000 vehicles travel through this intersection in an average day.
