It happened just before 11:30 when, according to Kentucky State Police, 25 year old Bradley J Acton of Owensboro was traveling through the intersection of West 3rd and Maple Streets at an alleged high rate of speed. As he drove through the intersection, he collided with an Owensboro Police car, driven by Officer Jason Lee, who was enroute to call of service. A parked car also received damage after the initial collision.
Two passengers in the Action car, 24 year old Nicholas Hall and 21 year old Anton Ganger, were transported to Owensboro Health for their injuries.
During the investigation, Action was alleged to be intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
