UPDATE
The start of this planned closure on KY 281/Island Ford Road in HOPKINS County has been delayed until Monday, July 30, 2012. The roadway will remain open to normal traffic this week. The contractor assisting on this project has been called to respond to an emergency in Bell County.
We will provide an updated closure notice later in the week once we are assured the schedule has firmed up.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close KY 281 in HOPKINS County starting Monday, July 23, 2012.
KY 281/Island Ford Road will be closed from KY 138 at mile point 16.134 to KY 1033 at mile point 9.057 for a slide repair and drainage work.
KY 281 will close starting at approximately 8:00 a.m., on Monday the July 23rd and remain closed through Friday July 27th.
Motorists who regularly travel this section of KY 281 should make advance alternate travel plans. No marked detour will be provided.
Approximately 100 vehicles travel this section of KY 281 in an average day.
