Railroad Crossing Repair Thursday on US 41-A in Hopkinsville

CSX Railroad and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plan to close US 41-Alternate/South Walnut Street in Hopkinsville on Thursday, July 26, 2012.

This closure at US 41-Alternate mile point 15.380 is to allow the removal of 3 rail crossings at the site.  This is on US 41-A/South Walnut Street between East 19th Street and East 21st Street in Hopkinsville in front of the Siemer-Sunflower Milling Company site.  This is in the 2000 Block of South Walnut near the Caution Light where US 41-Alternate transitions from Walnut Street to Ft. Campbell Boulevard.

The roadway is expected to close at 8:00 a.m., CDT, on Thursday, July 26th.  It is expected to reopen by about 3:30 p.m., on Thursday.  The area will then be allowed to settle for a few days before being fully resurfaced.

There will be no marked detour.  Motorists may choose to detour via US 41/East 9th Street and KY 380/Skyline Drive.
