State Transportation Cabinet District 2 Looking to Fill Jobs

Madisonville, Ky.,  (Oct. 29, 2013) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 2 has immediate job openings in several counties that include training to assist successful applicants in earning their Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
According to KYTC District 2 Chief Engineer Kevin McClearn, the Heavy Equipment Operator I (HEO-1) positions are available in a number of area counties.
“The HEO-I is an immediate fill position. It is advertised/open to be filled anytime in the next six months,” McClearn said.  “Once an applicant submits an application, it will stay in the system for several months before they have to reapply.  They can sign up for jobs in their home county, or they can apply for jobs in neighboring counties.”

McClearn noted that KYTC District 2 has immediate fill openings available in Webster, Henderson, Union, Ohio, Hancock and Daviess counties.  The HEO-I job series has a starting pay of $10.20 an hour with a 5 percent raise after a six-month probation period, plus benefits that include accumulation of one day of sick leave and one day of vacation per month worked and health insurance.  It also includes training and assistance with testing for a CDL.
