MAN ARRESTED AFTER CRASHING RIG IN TODD COUNTY WEDNESDAY

A Sharon Grove man was arrested after he crashed the semi he was driving in Todd County early this morning.
At 1:46am, crews responded to Kentucky 181 near Elkton when the rear of a 2002 International tractor trailer, driven by 41 year old Carl B. Powell, dropped off the road, causing the vehicle to overturn. The cargo, a 44,000 pound roll of steel coil, broke loose and landed in a ditch.
Through the investigation, KSP found Powell was under the influence of drugs, and marijuana and other drug paraphernalia was found.
Powell was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment and was cited to court, due to his injuries, for 1st offense DUI, possession of marijuana and first offense possession of drug paraphernalia.
