Notes from Monday's Hopkins County School Board Meeting



          THE HOPKINS COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION GAVE AWARDS LAST NIGHT TO NOTEWORTHY STUDENTS.
 
          JERICO VANNOY, A STUDENT AT HOPKINS COUNTY CENTRAL WAS RECOGNIZED FOR HIS ARCHERY SKILLS. COACH DAVID STARKS SAID THAT VANNOY WON THE STATE CONTEST WITH A SCORE OF 297 OUR OF 300, AND THE NATIONAL CONTEST WITH A SCORE OF 298 OUT OF 300. VANNOY NOW GOES TO SOUTH AFRICA FOR THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION. SUPERINTENDANT JAMES LEE STEVENS SAID THAT CHES RIDDLE JUNIOR AND RICK SNODGRASS WERE INSTRUMENTAL IN GETTING THE ARCHERY PROGRAM ESTABLISHED.

          ALSO LAST NIGHT, THE SCHOOL BOARD AND CHAMBER PRESIDENT LEE LINGO RECOGNIZED
12 STUDENTS WITH 110 PERCENT AWARDS, NOTING STUDENT ACCOMPLISHMENT IN CITIZENSHIP, LEADERSHIP AND COOPERATIVE SPIRIT.
