Rand Paul Made Stop in Madisonville Thursday

KENTUCKY U.S. SENATOR RAND PAUL WAS IN MADISONVILLE TODAY AT THE CHAMBER HOT TOPIC LUNCHEON.

SENATOR PAUL SPOKE ON SEVERAL TOPICS INCLUDING ENERGY POLICY, TAXATION, NATIONAL DEBT AND OBAMACARE.  STARTING FIRST ON BUDGET SEQUESTRATION, PAUL SAID THAT ALL THE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES ENDED UP FINDING WASTEFUL SPENDING WHEN THEY WERE FORCED TO, AND THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WASTES A LOT OF MONEY ON THINGS LIKE TRIPS FOR FEDERAL WORKERS.

HE ALSO SAID THAT BILLIONS COULD BE SAVED BY NOT RE-HIRING AFTER A FEDERAL WORKER RETIRED, AND THAT WE BORROW WAY TOO MUCH MONEY FROM CHINA TO FINANCE THE GOVERNMENT.

ON THE SUBJECT OF ENERGY, THE SENATOR SAID THAT THE EASTERN PART OF KENTUCKY IS IN A DEPRESSION BECAUSE OF THE WHITE HOUSE’S WAR ON COAL, AND THAT THE COAL INDUSTRY SHOULDN’T BE REGULATED OUT OF BUSINESS.

AND AS A DOCTOR HIMSELF, SENATOR PAUL SPOKE AT LENGTH ABOUT OBAMACARE, SAYING THAT THE NEW LAWS DO NOTHING TO CONTROL COSTS, AND GREATLY INCREASE PAPERWORK FOR DOCTORS.  HE SAID HE FAVORS A HEALTH CARE SYSTEM WITH MORE COMPETITION, MORE PATIENT ACCESS TO PRICES, AND LESS RESTRICTIONS ON HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNTS.
