City of Madisonville Gets Grant for New Police Vests

            The City of Madisonville has secured a grant that will help better protect their police officers.
            Today’s (Tuesday’s) announcement will have 8,250 dollars coming from the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security.
            The money is going towards the purchase of body armor vests.
            The grant funds come under the Law Enforcement Protection Grant Program, which is a state program that is funded solely from the sale of confiscated weapons turned in by local and state police.
