Annual Veterans Day Parade Set for Sunday in Madisonville



The 49th Veterans Day Parade, put on by the American Legion Post 6 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5480 will be November 3rd at 2:00 PM.
 
Line up begins at 12:30. We are asking all veterans from the KORIAN CONFLICT and also all Veterans who received the Purple Heart we would like to know who you are and please contact Chairman – Bruce Unland at VFW Post so you can be recognized during the parade. We would also like to extend an invitation to sit on the reviewing stand during the parade.
 
This year our Grand Marshall is Army Lt. Col. Donald Lafoon of Madisonville, KY. Entered service at age 18 (December 1943) served for 28 years until (August 1971) He saw combat during three (3) different wars. (WW II in Germany, Korea in 1950, and Vietnam in 1969).
 
There will be Trophies for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place most Patriotic entries.
 
The theme for this year’s Parade is “HONORING OUR VETERANS / SACRAFICE AND SERVICE”
 
All entries must have a Patriotic theme.
 
There is an AFTER PARADE chili being served at both the VFW Post 5480 and American Legion Post 6 starting at around 4:30 PM.
