Madisonville North Hopkins High School is seeking participants in its new Parent Volunteer Program.
The school will host three informational sessions on Tuesday, Nov. 5.Anyone interested in participating is asked to attend one of these sessions. They will be held at 9:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the school library. Each session will last less than an hour.
Information will be presented about the expectations of joining the Maroon family, confidentiality, log-ging volunteer hours and background checks.
“Most parents love to be involved with their elementary student, but as they get older the participation becomes less and less,” said MNHHS Youth Services Center Coordinator Randall Campbell. “We here at North Hopkins believe that our students could benefit from that support system. We want to remind our community that this is still a family school and a community school. We want people to be involved and committed to seeing our students succeed.”
Principal Tim Huddleston is spearheading the thought process behind the new program. He has success-fully implemented this program at his previous schools.
