Two Arrested in Hopkins County for Railroad Tie Plates Theft

            Two men have been arrested after a large number of railroad tie plates had been reported stolen in Hopkins County.
            According to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department, several items were allegedly taken from a construction site off Mannington Loop in mid-February.  The investigation led to 20 year old Robert James Cannon and 39 year old David Allen Cunningham allegedly taking the stolen plates to Arrow Salvage for scrap metal.
            Both were arrested Thursday by Madisonville Police following a traffic stop.
            All of the stolen tie plates, valued at over three thousand dollars, were recovered and returned to CSX.
