Traffic Safety Checkpoint in Christian County Sunday Nets Arrest

            A Sunday afternoon traffic safety check point near Mannington resulted in the arrest of a Nortonville man on drug-related charges.
            Just after 4:00pm, Kentucky State Police observed a vehicle making a u-turn from their check point on US 41 and sped off in the opposite direction.
            Troopers caught up with the vehicle on Mannington Loop and detained the driver, 53 year old Jeffrey Farmer.
            He was arrested and charged with failure to or improper signal, reckless driving, failure to produce an insurance card, driving under the influence and trafficking in a controlled substance (meth).
            He was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.
