Madisonville City Council Passes Revised Budget



     THE CITY OF MADISONVILLE HAS PASSED A REVISED CITY BUDGET.  MEETING IN SPECIAL SESSION YESTERDAY, THE COUNCIL PASSED THE BUDGET THAT INCLUDES SOME LATE-BREAKING REVENUE INCREASES, INCLUDING 400-THOUSAND FROM OUTSTANDING F.E.M.A. FUNDS FROM THE ’09 ICE STORM AND 250-THOUSAND DOLLARS RECEIVED FROM A HYDROELECTRIC COOPERATIVE.  THERE WAS ALSO 273-THOUSAND MORE IN TAX REVENUE THAN EXPECTED. SOME OF THESE FUNDS WILL BE USED TO PAY CASH FOR TWO NEW FIRE TRUCKS, CLEAN UP THE BALANCE SHEET FOR THE AIRPORT, AND START WORK ON THE FESTUS CLAYBON SPRAY PARK.
